Young Finance's commercial mortgage service is for business owners looking for a mortgage to purchase their own premises, or for investors wanting to purchase or refinance commercial property to let to business tenants.
Unlike residential lending, commercial mortgages rarely come with set criteria, rates or pricing, making them difficult to compare. Instead, emphasis is placed on the individual case and rates are based on the strength of the specific proposition. The lender will evaluate the calibre of the tenant and strength of the tenancy contract (this determines the yield and impacts the value of the commercial property asset) as well as the security of the mortgage applicant's business.
The Financial Services Authority does not regulate overseas mortgages, some forms of buy to let mortgages and commercial mortgages.
